It goes without saying that the past 8 months have been beyond anyone's expectations. The impact of the pandemic on our wellbeing has been extraordinary.
It is reported that two thirds of Brits have gained weight since the last lockdown, by an average of 3kg. One in four have suffered with mental health troubles. This change in the way we are living can also have an impact on those other niggling health problems such as bloating, gas, tummy pain, constipation or diarrhoea. We might be feeling more sluggish, tired, foggy or just lost our "spark".
In my field of work as a GP and Functional Medicine Specialist, I have seen a huge increase in people coming to me wanting to know how they can optimise their health. The interest in personal health has surged in this time where maintaining optimal wellbeing is more important than ever.
As Christmas draws near and another lockdown sets in, the risk of falling into old habits rears its head. This time of year is normally busy with travel, preparations and excitement. But this year will be different... so we have to think of smart ways to use our time to benefit us. And what better way than to get ahead of the game with a health reboot, setting you up for a great start to 2021.
This got me thinking, and over the last few months I have been working on just that! I wanted to be able to offer the detailed and comprehensive care that I have been providing to my 1:1 patients, to everyone.
